Adding vanilla bean?

I normally only do primary fermentation and have brewed a vanilla cream ale and wanted to ask if anyone has added the vanilla beans to primary? I see where a lot of people talking about adding to secondary, thanks for anyone's opinion!

Adding it to your primary fermenter would be fine, I think, if you wait until fermentation is complete.

Yeah, if you add it before active fermentation is over you may blow off the aromatics, but primary after that is fine.

Oh yeah, you should def be fine to add it to the primary
