Well, bottling my second brew tomorrow, a vanilla cream ale I found on these forums. I'm adding both lactose and pure vanilla extract to the bottling bucket. I was wondering if i should just dump them in there, or is there a chance for infection if I do that?

I was thinking about just putting them both in the water with the priming sugar, but wanted to make sure that it was necessary/advised first.

I personally would boil the lactose with the priming sugar to be safe. The vanilla extract is mostly alcohol and isn't as much of a concern.
