Been brewing for a while but still make silly mistakes like making hard cider and not paying attention and adding to much sugar, I think I figured I added 2 lb too much of table sugar to Ed Worts Alphenwein recipe. I’m usinf SafCider yeast. Can I expect the ABV to go up 1% per lb of extra sugar added? I didn’t take original gravity (doh!).

I’m concerned the ABV will be really high, I can’t find what Ed’s recipe ABV is buy suspect it’s something like 9% so mine might be 11%? It it’s going to taste boozy?

Yep, approximately.
You added 4lbs of sugar? Should be about 10-11% when it's done.

I don't add any sugar to my cider beside bottle priming. Seems like a bad idea imo.

Good luck!

Add more sugar (follow Pappys pub cider recipe), throw in some wine yeast and let it rock. When it is done, make some applejack :)
