Im going to be brewing NB Ace of Spades IPA this weekend and i plan on doing a full boil. I know i need to reduce the amount of hops so i used beersmith to do my calculations. I just wanted to be reinsured that i did it right. Also i was wondering if any of you guys think it would actually be bad if I used all the hops since Im making an IPA.

The original amounts:
1oz Magnum (60min)
1oz Chinook (20min)
.5oz Centennial (20min)
1.5oz Centennial (5min)

After adjusting for 5 gal:
.7oz Magnum (60min)
.7oz Chinook (20min)
.35oz Centennial (20min)
1.05oz Centennial (5min)

First of all, don't ever adjust the late hops- even with different AAUs, an ounce of chinook at 15 minutes gives flavor that you won't get from .5 oz, as an example.

Secondly, I doubt you'd want to reduce even the bittering hops as that beer looks better with the original amounts!

A tip for doing a full boil of an extract batch is to approximate the AG version of the same recipe. Put the AG version into Beersmith if you want, or hop with the AG hop schedule. That's what I would do!
