I need a converter for 110 AC to 12V DC 4-6A for my coleman thermoelectric cooler that's mounted to the back of ferment chamber/box. The original coleman was junk and burned out long ago. I bought a T Power (china) and it burnt up after a year.

Is there a better alternative for conversion? I only need to knock the temp up or down 5 to 10 deg. I can order another cheap one for around $15-20 but I don't think they last under continuous use.

I may be better off finding a cheap mini fridge.

Objection, your honor!

Asked and answered.

Edit: To elaborate. TEC's offer more drawbacks than benefits here (and they are difficult to do 'right'). You are better off getting a fridge.

If you are looking for a power supply do a quick search on that big auction site in the sky for "switching power supply 12v" and you can add "ham radio". you will have more options than you can sort through.
