AAARRGGHH! 5 gallons down the drain.. Damn isinglass

Just venting...

I made a nice pale ale, and a week before kegging I added what I thought was polyclar to the 2ndary then kegged.. Drew off the first beer yesterday and it smells like Satans anus.... Turns out, I added isinglass instead of polyclar! I grabbed the wrong damn package.. And now my beer is ruined.. It's official.. I am an idiot.................. Back to the drawing board...

Didn't the isinglass drop out? I've used it a few times and never noticed an odd flavor.

I added the isinglass in the 2ndary and let it sit for a week before kegging.. It wasnt the fact that I used isinglass, but more to do with the amount I used.. I dosed it like I dose polyclar.. 5 grams into 1 cup warm water.. Never used isinglass before and I have no idea how much to use or even how to use it..l But I am guessing that 5 grams mized in warm water isnt right.. Regardless, I smelled the isinglass mix before I dumped it in the beer and it smelled horrible... (Even when I did that, I still didnt recognize that it wasnt polyclar! I am a retard).. And the smell i smell in my finished beer smells an awful lot like the isinglass mixture...

I use it all the time with no problems, I guess I will need to smell it next time to see how it smells as I never have. Maybe it was bad to begin with.

Gelatin smells pretty bad (maybe Satans feet????) and it never leaves any odor in beer.

Its either not settled out or was bad to begin with.

How long has the beer been cold with the isinglass?

Not sure what happend with the isinglass. It was the first time I had ever smelled it and it smelled kinda sour-like..... Could be it waws bad, but I just bought it amonth or so ago.
How do you guys use it? How much per 5 gallon batch? The isinglass was in the 2ndary for a week before racking to keg
