He kicked butt today. Watched a bit while sucking this down at PintHousePizza. This others aftet. This Jolly Pumpkin is a spitting image of @m00ps, but m00ps are fuller, this was too thin imho.

It took me about 6.5 including cleanup and my brew day felt like a mess... I missed all my mash temps with the decoctions and had to direct fire my wort (thank jeebus I BIAB), and I have no idea what my conversion was doing because I was sitting at 130 for 45 minutes, then 150 for about an hour and a half, then 165 while my bag drained, all of those temps drifting downward... Definitely would give decoction mashing a "2/10 would not recommend to a friend"

At the end of the day I had to add 1 gallon of top up water (i lost a bunch while boiling the decoctions) but my OG was spot on and it smelled great... So we'll see how the beer turns out.

I'm going to try it again when a make a dopplebock here in a month or so though, just to make sure I really don't like it.

Sounds awesome to me. I don't think I've ever heard a brewer say that they really look forward to doing it, but I've also never heard one say they weren't glad they did.

Just have a splash of the upslope left. I am hoping the negative weather last night didn't freeze it. I think I've only had a keg freeze once. We had a snap of cold weather last year i think, it was in the negatives for a couple weeks. It gets in the negatives here but it also is 50 the next day.
