How's that brisket coming along, @PianoMan ?

Stressful! Mucked with it, took 2hrs get temp back in range. Been on for 6hrs now and internal temp is 133F across the brisket. Some say wrap it, some say don't. Recent pic. Any opinions?

Fortunately there's plenty of HB around to calm the nerves. Thanks for asking!

It's complicated. Trying to hold 250ish, but it's dropped below 200 a couple times, then takes forever to ramp back up. At 4pm, internal temp hit the 160ish stall temp. Planning on checking again in 30min.

Messed around too much with a big shoulder once, and it did the same thing and took way longer than usual to hit temps. Hopefully wrapping it will get it there sooner than later (and in time for dinner). And at least there's lots of HB! [emoji482]

Saturday

Brewed a schwarzbier this morning. First stab at the style. Need to improve next time.

Cooked a bunch of grub for the moon festival. Ate some moon cake, drank some beer. All in all, good stuff.

Good day all in all

Just stepped out onto the back patio to enjoy a Lakewood temptress, and a flocking yellow jacket got my right along my spine mid-upper back, apparently chilling on my patio couch on the same spot right as I sat down and leaned back. Now back to the temptress. Carry on. View attachment 370395.

Sorry man! Fracking things can be painful. One hit bone in the finger and was useless at work the next day..of course that's normal some would say.

Great pics Gavin, beer, great food and awesome moon. Perfect day!

Nah, just kinda ruined my desire to chill outside last night. lol. The sting died down pretty quickly, and I'm pleased to report I'm not allergic! (First yellow jacket sting, so you never know. My dad's pretty allergic to bee stings). I can see a sting on the finger being a bit more bothersome...

Any who, just had a late breakfast, and looking forward to chilling, watching some foosball, and beer and BBQ this afternoon! Wife's got a big honey-do-list for me today, so we'll see how far down the list we get. :) [emoji482]
