What would be one beer style you wish you drank more?
For me, probably porter. I really enjoy a good porter with adjuncts like coconut or peanut butter, but I really can't say I go out of my way to find a sample of the style that stands above all others if there are no adjuncts involved.

Sours and 100% Brett beers.

I really enjoy the verity of flavors both create.

Is a scotch ale just usually aged in scotch barrels, or is it using smoked malt and therefore tastes a lot like scotch? I've been interested to try one, but not if it just tastes like scotch.
Have a "white stout" that got totally effed up, and I think it's cause the LHBS got peated and smoked malts mixed up. Tastes like cold, bubbly scotch. I've only kept it to see if it would age out. Has a bit, but still not enough to finish a glass.

Smoked malt, mostly. I haven't had many scotch barrel aged beers.

Any thought to staying in Cozumel and just taking the ferry over for the festivities? Its like a forty minute or so trip...I thought Cozumel was a lot less touristy (atleast while the cruise ships aren't in port) and definitely cheaper to stay, maybe even cheaper to fly into if you don't mind making a connecting flight through GWBush Airport.

That sounds good to me but I would probably get crucified for breaking from the group.

I haven't tried any of the fancy stuff you sent me. One Sunday when I got up early for football, I had the SMS for breakfast. Not knowing it wasn't to be taken so literally, it was a struggle for my dainty, bitter-loving tastes. Now I'm skeered to try the good stuff. I will, just feel like it should be a special occasion or something. For now, they make me look damn cool having a liquor cabinet full of sexy beers.

@supervisingchildren needs to swing by to enjoy a few of those with me some night.

About 10 years ago (so I was 30-ish) I just decided to go a month without drinking for no real reason. At the end of the month, I thought "I'm going to go a little longer". I went just under a year (10 months, I think) without a single sip of alcohol.
