Did you guys start selling shrink rays? That bottle of Jameson looks way to small for a Wednesday.

That bottle was a gift from a new line we picked up. Trying to familiarize the product with new reps, they send out product guides along with either chocolates or booze. They sent the booze to the right person.

I bought some around Halloween, I think. It wasn't too bad.

Have you tried that bourbon county yet? That's excellent. The SMS I sent to you was a '15...some of those bottles were hit or miss. the '16 variation that's out now is a lot less in the bourbon taste/nose and much more in the dark coffee.

Answer to QOTD: ESBs and English Brown Ales. There's very limited selection where I am though, notwithstanding ones that are available and actually good.

Coffee is brewing in the french press.

We have a local company, Yards, that makes a really good ESB. Its a good go-to when you see it on a tap list at a bar to start with.

eesh, that should make things interesting for you. Still under some sort of warranty or no?

Haha... warranty.

$129 to replace the screen. Looked up how to do it yourself online, big nope on that.

Not going to funk with it myself, I'll just pay the stupid guy to do it.

I've been running on a cracked screen for 2 months. No loose shards yet though.

QOTD: I currently don't have a solid answer for this. Quads? Sure why not.

I haven't tried any of the fancy stuff you sent me. One Sunday when I got up early for football, I had the SMS for breakfast. Not knowing it wasn't to be taken so literally, it was a struggle for my dainty, bitter-loving tastes. Now I'm skeered to try the good stuff. I will, just feel like it should be a special occasion or something. For now, they make me look damn cool having a liquor cabinet full of sexy beers.

@supervisingchildren needs to swing by to enjoy a few of those with me some night.

Great. I'll look for it next time I'm in PA. Which is never.

A couple of the local microbrews make ESBs, but not on a regular basis. And only one of them is good. The other is... meh. At least Fullers is on tap in a lot of bars and is available in cans.

For brown ales, there are even fewer options (on draught - luckily there are a handful in stores). I love me some Newcastle, Belhaven, Fuller's London Pride, Spitfire, Old Speckled Hen... but it's impossible to find any on draught.

Just so y'all know what you're up against, I've spent the last three years studying under The Master herself. Y'all don't even stand a chance, and would do just as well to not even enter this one.

Just a friendly warning.

I will LITERALLY prance circles around you all.

You'd literally be able to prance on my grave if you came at me like that. I'd keel over laughing!

ok, a lil bit better now. 838 in the morning, already drinking. So bring it on :fro:

QOTD:
What would be one beer style you wish you drank more?
For me, probably porter. I really enjoy a good porter with adjuncts like coconut or peanut butter, but I really can't say I go out of my way to find a sample of the style that stands above all others if there are no adjuncts involved.

Stouts. I definitely don't drink enough stouts ;)

In all seriousness, going back to English milds & ESBs. I drank a steady stream of them 4 years ago in England but never seem to pick one up since.

Haha... warranty.

Go to the mall and check out the cart vendors (assuming there are half a dozen like there are around here.) We replaced the one on my old phone to give my son for Christmas and ended up costing $70 and it works fine.

French press as the conference calls are about to start...

I say Pilsner. Need a light crisp every now and again.

Qotd: I'll say porter. Like them a lot. Brewed one for Christmas with adjuncts. It tasted great before the adjuncts were added, probably would've been great afterward if I wouldn't have added the clove. It ruined the beer. Still have tons left of it, and left tons at the cabin in the cellar.

I've done this before too, with a Christmas ale. I didn't realize exactly how far even a little bit of clove would go. I think for future brews I'll omit close all together and just let the yeast profile give the clove flavors.

I don't know that I'd ever throw clove in a beer. I love it, but my spice cabinet is enormous and all I can smell when I open it is the tiny little jar of clove.

More porters ("morters" for short) would be nice. Y'all can keep all the adjuncts though. #GaryOakLives

Overall I'd say English ales in general. It seems like I can only ever find the same few beers from the same few breweries, so I don't drink them a lot.

QOTD: Going to plagiarize @hunter_la5 and toss my vote at English ales in general... just not something we get much of here.
