I rode by one of those on my way to work yesterday afternoon. This was just after every single Arlington police officer had their car along the exit from 50 to Washington Blvd. I seriously thought I was getting shot at or something.

Yeah, I live along that stretch of 50. It caught me by surprise the first time I heard it. It happens all the time though. Why they feel the night to fire rounds at that hour of the morning is beyond me though.

Having a Unibroue Ephemere. Kids got the tent set back up in the basement after I wrapped up the broken tent poles, so they'll likely get to have their "campout" tonight. I'm beat, but not gonna fall asleep super early like swmbo did 2 hours ago.

I lived in the flight path of an Air Force Base when our first kiddo was born. 7 AM fighter maneuvers are fantastic.

We're not too far off the flight path of Reagan National. When I first moved to this area about 10 years ago, I worked out by Dulles, and my job was literally right at the end of the runway (as close as you could be without being on airport property, right against it, you could literally see DHS/TSA/whoever patrol vehicles riding along on the other side of the fence). It was deafening and regular. Where we are now the plane noise isn't too bad, but there's a spot along one of the highways that literally crosses right under the Reagan National runway (and a park at that spot that's a favorite of plane watchers). Must be only a couple hundreds yards overhead.

Our old place in Alexandria used to get regular helicopter traffic though. But never at that hour of the morning.

I guess they plan the synchronized blank firing practices around the weather for days when it is clear and not overly cold. Its not often I catch it though. It is close enough to the road to be startling though.

50 and N Pershing. Whatever gate it is there. And right inside that fence. That's where I've usually seen them do it, but there may be other places too. My apartment is well within earshot (for a gunshot at least) from there.

Having a hb ipa. Whenever we get another decent day I need to weed out around my hop trellis and do something for the soil whether adding nutrients or adding some new soil. Way too underproductive.

I am less than 10 miles, as the crow flies, from RDU airport. They switch the flight patterns up every few months, but there's always airplanes overhead. I got used to it. Just like when I lived in NYC, my apartment faced the B/Q Subway stop at Prospect Park. Even the extra-squeal-y brakes didn't phase me after a few weeks.

Honestly it's growing on me quickly. First few sips were a no, but halfway through and I admit to it being pretty alright. Damn. First I lose my face and now I lose my anti-saison identity. I dont even know who I am anymore.
