Cell phone (HTC One M7) **** the bed, so I went and got a new phone at lunch. Moto X Play. Nice phone. Paid for it entirely up front, and am now on a month-by-month plan that saves me about $60/month. Not too shabby.

Saves you $60 a month?! How ****ing expensive was your plan? Wife and I combined is $70.

We Canadians pay out the bloody arse for cell phone plans, internet etc. Unlimited data is still pretty much unheard of. My previous plan was $85/month plus tax. I've dialed it back some and since I'm now also not paying a monthly fee for the phone itself, I'm at $45/month+tax. So I didn't save $60 actually... only $50/month (after taxes)

And I'm on one of the "cheaper" carriers. For the same phone on one of our big 3 (that also own the smaller carriers, more about collusion later...) the base cost fora plan with 1gig of data was $80/month + tax.

Seriously, we get hosed here:

Having some friends of our that are huge into wine and starting to get more into beer over for drinks tonight. They'll be some of the first people to try my first batch of beer from 2016. It's a rye IPA, so I've named it Ryecerahops.

On topic: Coffee. It may not be the best, but its right downstairs and I can get it while I'm not exactly dressed. Unlike hotels...they tend to frown upon that.

Pff... you are paying to stay there, they can just deal.
