that sounds pretty good. Might be tough to walk there and back from 7th and market in a 1/2 hour though...

Edit: only saw the one at 15th and spring garden, there's one right around the corner from me. Nice.

In related news, a new primos opened and we were among the first 100 customers and got a free hoagie #winning

All of them deliver, well worth the money, good eating.
If Brogies are your thing, there's a Fink's on Jeweler's Row...they also deliver. I think I prefer them over Primo's Thurmanns meat.

Engineering meeting ran 2 hrs late. They considering hiring someone to do half of my job because of my bosses neglectful whining that we are too busy, to make himself look good. The shirt is hitting the fan and I'm standing in front of it. Lunch beers with the cool coworker. Two all day ipas at the bar. This now:

Sorry to hear man. So no good news out of all that?

That doesn't really affect me, if anything it will make my job easier. They are just stupid for doing so. The work isn't there, but when they called my boss out for not putting out any dwgs, he claimed there's too much to do to cover his ass. Good news still potentially in the works, but afraid boss is too much of an idiot to make it happen.

Good news pending.

Dammit! That was in a PM I sent to Psy last night: "Anyways, back to drinking and murdering ******* like Bro J Simpson". IT was still used!

Just pulled the trigger on a Monster Mill MM2 with all the options. 1/2'' drive, 303 SS roller mills, and extended hopper. I'll be in business this time next week! WOOO!

Very nice - I'm ordering the 15lb barley crusher this weekend as well as the ingredients I can't pick up from the LHBS - I'll be brewing a 10gal all-grain batch (1st time doing all-grain and 10gal!) next weekend, for the first time in months!

OT - 2 lunch beers consumed. Lunch "hour" turned into 1.75 hours. What'd I miss? More brolosophy?

I know it's not your style, but I'd be in there telling the big bossman that you could do this 'new position' and yours with your eyes closed and plead your case for a nice hefty raise. Save them tens of thousands of dollars and tell them your boss isn't using you to your full potential, in so many words.

But. I do, do this position. It is my position. They are just breaking 2 of 20 of my responsibilities off and having this new person do it. I do it now. All of it, but they caught my boss with his pants down and he needed an excuse. So he cried overworked and understaffed. I'll be applying for the new position, just to **** with them and show them how flawed of an idea this is.

You have the perfect opportunity here, is all I'm saying.

I would go in there and tell him how much **** that is and if they're willing to spend ~30-40K for another body, they should be more than willing to give a nice big bump and have someone they don't have to train get the **** done... you know, like it's supposed to work.

The guy needs to be outed, obviously.

But that might cut down on HBT time... so, pribroities I guess.

I have a barley crusher now (that just broke) and have had good luck with it, but I would do your homework being buying one. Their customer service is pretty terrible. If you ever have issues with it, its pretty much yours to fix on your own. I know many people on this site that will never buy from them again because of that and other issues with it. After using one for a few years and being happy with it, I would still never buy a new one from them. Check out some options if you haven't already. It may be cheap but you get what you pay for. Just my 2 cents. Cheers!

Im with Psy but I would take this to your boss's boss. Your boss is obviously not suited for his position. Hell, just tell them you'd be a better fit for his job! :D

I've been using a $30 Hamilton Beach blender for over a year.

That's what I meant.

I have one too. Upkeep with the damn thing is horrendous. I have to remember to adjust the gap each time I use it. I have to pull out the shop vac after use and get all the grain dust out as well as blow it out with compressed air. Even then I still have to take it apart every 3 uses and clean it. Otherwise it will "slip" during use which will completely stop the operation.

Also, pretty sure the gnarls are worn out after 3 years but don't have the patience for the replacement. Worked good for about the first three months and that was that.

Go big or go home.

Yeah, except the only thing they actually do seem to follow around here is chain of command. The **** definitely rolls downhill here and unfortunately, I'm the one at the bottom cleaning it up. We'll see how things turn out. Two years is all they get out of me if it doesn't work out though.

Well aren't you just a unique little astronaut riding a unicorn jumping through a rainbow.

That's why you gotta push it up there in their faces.

Not like they'll fire you over it... your boss will be all, 'omg, can't believe you just went YOLO on me bro.'

And you'll just be like, 'You know why.'

That sucks. Sounds like your boss is screwed when he hires someone new and still doesn't put out dwgs. At least he didn't say 'not a lot of work, maybe we should make some cuts.' Could be worse?

Yep. Sorry. Not complaining, just that one frustrating day a year that I have to fight to get a respected, comparable pay and don't get it. Everyone here hates my boss and knows he does nothing... except... for his boss, who loves him.

So TG won't let you touch the big boy equipment like the grain mill?

Edit: quote fail.

Haha psy was pretty spot on, its a huge mill setup to auger directly to the MT. They do have a smaller mill for specialty grain additions, but I think it does the same thing.

Go big or go home.

Exactly. I have actually never had issues with this mill in 2.5 years of use and this is the first time I have ever cleaned it out. From all the negative reviews about them, I think I just got lucky. Wouldnt ever buy a new one, luckily I got mine used and cheap.

Ha... probably set up with a screw gear that takes the crushed grain straight to the mash tuns.

That's pretty accurate actually. Every damn thing is automated in that place, its amazing. I need to get one of those for my setup from my mill in the mudroom to my front porch. That'll add value to the home. :D
