Are you from the original SW generation or a millennial? There's quit an opposition in opinion depending on one's age.

There shouldn't be an opposition of opinion, and that's the truth of it. Currently, there is only one real trilogy. They should fight each other so we can finally see the quickening.
We went from Space Opera to MTV mini-series that takes places other places.

Anybody here have the Maelstrom stir plate? Midwest is running a special right now and thinking about picking one up. I have had to do like 8 step ups in my 2L flask this past week and a half for the beer this weekend and it's getting pretty annoying. That stir plate can handle up to FIVE GALLONS of starter, so I would have only had to do 2 steps. Any recommendations on this stir plate?

Exactly. I would think anyone who is a fan 4-6, would like TFA. It's nothing like 1-3. If it was, I wouldn't have seen it multiple times.

I bought it but only did a 2L with SanDiego. It's quiet, has multiple speeds and appears to have no issues keeping the wort agitated. But that's my limited experience.

Get a bigger flask. (5L) for what you're brewing

I souped up my stir plate with some longer Neodynium magnets. I can run it full blast (which is good) and do 5L starter should I want.

I think you may have mistyped. I don't think it would handle 5G of wort sitting on it. Maybe it will. That would be incredible.

I've got some killer magnets if you're interested. Free-v- Nonfree

Just a thought.

Morning all BTW

Out of curiosity, what brand/size of scale are you guys using for measuring your hops/grains? I need to pick one up, and don't want to break the bank. There's a couple stores on my walk home that sell all kinds of "herbal" measurement devices...

I use an ultra ship 55lb from amazon for grains, awesome to have removable face plate. Hops i bought a $4 ebay 200g scale

I bought both of mine on eBay. One small scale for hops and additives that is sensitive to .01 oz. And a larger postal style scale that weighs up 75lbs I think. Both were nowhere near "break the bank" price. It has been so long ago, but I think I paid around $8 for the small scale and $15 for the larger one.

Edit: Here's one just like mine. http://m.ebay.com/itm/Accuteck-S70l...l-Scale-W-AC-Postage-/231756776623?nav=SEARCH

Can't find one exactly like the smaller scale I have, but search pocket scale on eBay.
