I can't wait to get it put together and do some drunken hot laps.

My dad and I were just talking about those this weekend. He found his old slot car track and cars while they were cleaning out the attic. Him and I used to race them when I was really little. Can't tell you how many times I remember the car flying off the track and whipping me or the wall. Mom hated that thing lol.

2 hours later, two cars un-plowed-in and dug out of the snow. That may be my workout for the day. Or at least making up for two days of no working out. Probably still hit the gym later.

It's beautiful outside though. Was working in just a t-shirt. The guys across the street cleaning the condo building driveway were looking at me like I'm mad. Bring on the winter.

Ha! Already sent a pic to the wife...

'That's not for Ella... That's for you.'

She knows me too well.

Yeah, we'll see.

Also... Boss asked me last week if I wanted a slot car track because his kids have grown out of it. Of course I said yes (daughter would love it).

Comes in with this monster, lol. Fookin score.

Oh man... I need to go do an intro thread over there.

"Hey guys, I'm Psylocide from Sue Falls, Souf Derpkoda, I enjoy making beer and cooking. Starting out with this 12 year old slot track, but looking to up my game soon here with a full electric basement build."

Also for your new chat forum @psylocide .

I'm guessing this could be a hot button topic for a first post.

"I think anyone not using a sidewinder is an ar$e" or something more witty.

(Quiet day today, learning a lot about slot car mechanics)

If you've never done drunken snow angels wearing nothing but shorts, in the middle of the street in the projects, after the Steelers won the Super Bowl... only to have a cop stop and make sure nobody ran you over while you finished said angel, then tell you to go back in the house and stay warm... you haven't lived.

Or gone sledding in the projects on a trash bag.

I don't have time to go back through all the posts while I was on the phone - but when did they start allowing motors in pinewood derby cars?!

:pipe:

Pssh, fawk yeah dude! Except I had a grandma that spoiled us. She got us the hard plastic sheets that you put in garbage bags to hold them open. Little bit of cooking spray on those babies and you're gooood.

I feel extra ghetto for using big pieces of cardboard.

Pretty much. :D

Wait, you're quitting your current job to go do packaging at Tallgrass? I thought your current job was pretty epic and you were building new offices and such? Maybe I don't pay attention or packing at a brewery is a much bigger job in KS.

Trash can lids here. No point in having a single purpose sled when you MIGHT get to use it once a year, tops.

Now I gotta go see if all of my cars and track are still in my grandmas garage.

Or, like me, he's willing to take a pay cut and live on scraps to live the dream.

The job at Tallgrass is full time. We did just build a new office last year but its a very small company, only 3 employees. Ill still be doing data entry on nights and weekends so thatyll help them out and help me get some of my pay cut back through that. Plus ill still be doing the property management job i have now as well. Three jobs and school, sounds fun!! :D

Classic overachiever.

Good luck with all that, square.
