Nice, but that crooked A would bother me.

Brought beers in to work to drop off for a comp after work (and have a beer at the drop off point, of course).

Are beer comps the only people to use rubber bands any more? We didn't have enough at home. Client office in OH didn't have any, wife couldn't find any at several pharmacies yesterday on her way home yesterday, and my office doesn't have any. Going to have to try a Staples this afternoon I guess.

We didn't realize the A was crooked until after it was painted and hung. I was far too drunk to go back to Toys-r-us to pick up another one and start again. Honestly surprised the rest lined up as well as they did lol. It did make talking the wife into buying a Dremel and a router much easier afterwards, however

Shoot- in Texas those probably go for 200k; in Connecticut those would be 700k

Eh, you'd be surprised how stupid expensive Dallas is these days. Texas isn't cheap anymore unless you're not in the city, but that goes the same for any state.

Because it's the 21st century and this got replaced with that..

Yeah, saw that... thanks for the heads up.

I think I've got it nailed down for this first go around.

seriously though....i'd do a home brew swap if you are down. Of course I've got mostly sours, which if I remember aren't your thing.

Definitely not.

I need to be proved wrong apparently, but was talking to @finsfan (wherever the funk he is... we showed up together and I'm not leaving this party without him) about my first and only sour experience with Duchesse De Bourgogne, which he described as "one of the more 'accessible' sours for sour noobs."

I thought it tasted like balsamic vinegar, moldy ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.

But yeah, give me a little time to get a few more varieties going and I'd be down.

TFGIF

After another dry week I made very little progress on the scale this morning. Pisses me off.

If it wasn't for a company wide meeting today I'd be drinking very shortly. Gonna leave early today to have a couple beers before taking family out to Star Wars. Yay weekend!!!

Plenty more beers to den by noon tomorrow too! :mug:

Free beer isn't his thing. He just gets excited when he see's the mailman like a fluffy little puppy.

I need to be proved wrong apparently..

Have you had Monks Cafe Flemish Sour? It's one of the very few that I've had and don't think it's bad. At least, half a bottle is nice.

I have not... I just can't even try one again after wasting $7 on 12 oz of that other one at a tap room. I passed it around the table, laughed at my horrified friends as they each took a sip and poured the rest in the gutter.

I'm here, just pretending to work today, which sucks.

After being super nice and telling my wife I wasn't working tomorrow and could watch the baby so she could goto work, BAM, probably working tomorrow.

Is it beer time yet?

I think you would be better starting with a Brett IPA. You are more into that spectrum of the beer categories, so it would make sense to start with a brett strain/pale ale or IPA, imo

Would also require liquid yeast, which Psy seems scared of for some reason.

Doesn't necessarily require any add'l equipmunk, just use a gallon jug or a growler for a starter vessel.

My first sour was allagash cool ship red( changed my life and made me love Sours. I have had skme bad sours but there are a lot of great ones out there. Bfm 225 (sour)saison is amazing. Cuvée Freddy is pretty decent. Allagash is always good

Southern pines brewing in North Carolina has a Brett IPA, red wine and Brett that pretty tasty too

Kind of a non-issue because I'd never brew 5 gal of sour anything.

Also, @finsfan am I doing it right?

Funking sideways, lol. The price to tag.

Yeah it's actual chalkboard paint; daughters room and I got out voted. I was gonna make it magnetized until I realized the $20qt only covers 16sq ft.

I did a magnetic paint wall in the kitchen to hold the kids art work (instead of the fridge). It works ok if you use rare earth magnets.

For both of my daughter's rooms, I was able to convince the wife to go with a neutral tan color and put those huge vinyl stickers on the walls.

One daughter has monkeys and giraffes and a big tree and what-not, next one is getting a big tree with owls and stuff.

My daughter is demanding Disney princesses on the wall, we shall see.

Daughter is on second set of Disney characters - had Fairies for a couple years, Frozen has been up for about 18 months. She want Inside out now.

Son has gone through Toy Story & Cars and got Minions for Christmas.

So easy to change out and keeps the kids happy...

Is it beer time yet?

30 more minutes...which brewery do I want to hit?

And to change topics, since nothing is really off topic here, any of you IT folks have any experience with Hadoop?
