How is that stuff? I love the regular OR, but I always balk at the price on that one.

Didn't remember spending so much on this. It's good, but maybe not worth $20+. I liked 2015 BCBS better and it was $5 less. But I should let it warm up a little more before passing final judgement. Nothing is going to taste all that great at the moment with the taste of defeat still in my mouth.

Another Andy Mike ipa. Just finished putting away all the outdoor furniture and cleaned out the garage. Got both cars tucked in for the snow. Cooking up a big roast beef. Yummm

Stew is good. Made a roux and used half and half for the cream. Good body, solid aroma. Pheasant stock + the short boil on the ham bones resulted in a pretty flavorful broth.

And no, this is Alaskan Amber. I'll get a shot of the uggo in a minute.

My furnace went out because ice crystals formed in and blocked the fresh air intake. Wife told me at 4 am that it was 60 in the house. Great way to wake up.

Love winter, but sounds like you got punked.

That sounds rough man! I assume you fixed the furnace?

And yes it sucked hard. Had to bring the entire 50ft frozen hose inside and soak it in the bathtub. Then the other hose outside froze over during that period. That was an easy fix but pissed me off to all get out. Trying to calm down with some foosball now.

I challenged all my employees to quit Facebook for a week. I'm thinking it's the best decision I've made in a long time. You don't realize how much time you waste on it. I feel overall less annoyed by all the dumb stuff that clogs it up. I hate that it's turned into a place for people to sell "amazing products" (younique, rodan and fields, it works).

I've never had an account. I hate it mainly because my wife lets it take over her life. I really don't care if some person I haven't seen or talked to since the first grade, had a baby. Maybe that's just me being an a**hole though. Facebook has its benefits. It helped keep all of our friends and family informed when our youngest son was in the hospital for a couple of months. But to me the negatives out way the positives.
End rant....

Beginning to wonder if the Packers are going to show up today. View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1452466243.865322.jpg

Amen brother! I think I'll still keep my account active because our brewing group has a page. But I don't ever check Facebook in general unless I'm on my phone so the app is gone for good!

Yeah, went out in boots and shorts and scraped it out, fired right up but took a few hours to warm the house back up.

Ugly IPA. Ew.

I mean, it's got its benefits. I too have friends and family scattered around the country, and it's convenient to go to one place to keep in touch with all of them. But...the attention whores, the oversharing, the banal whining from so-called adults, the never-ending political/religious arguments, it can be a bit much sometimes. I'm pretty quick to unfriend or unfollow anyone that gets too obnoxious.

Also, this IIPA brew went fantastic yesterday. I got pretty tore up, but managed to do really well vis-à-vis not ****ing up in a blacked out state.

Hops were:

1 oz Columbus @ 60 = ~32 Ibu
1 oz ea Columbus/Simcoe @ 15 = ~41 Ibu
1 oz ea Columbus/Simcoe/Galaxy @ 10 = 41 Ibu
1 oz ea Columbus/Simcoe @ flameout
2 oz Galaxy @ flameout

Should be more than enough bitterness/hop flavor to counter the high og. Exciting... I'm in uncharted territory.

I'll do a double dry hop. Thinking 4 oz on this one.

Also, this is good again.

This is really tasty but at $10/bottle I think it will be a rare treat. Local shop had a good stock of them though.

That's my opinion on Bomb! also. When it first hit here, it was barely shelf, but now that we're getting it on the reg, it sits just like the expensive Mikkeler stuff.

This is phenomenal. Vanilla, stone fruit, layers of roast favors, chocolate. I'd berry punch Billy's grandma to be able to brew this.

Barrel Aged Legion pic

ISO. FT: Louisiana distro and whatnot.

Big RICC is good.

We had it here, but one of the other distributors found out and reported it because it is barley over our limit.

The distributor came to pull it, but was sweet talked into leaving it. Now we have a limited private reserve.

FYI, in case you were still ISO that BCBS, we don't get that here. ;)

Beautiful winter's day here in Texas.

Spent the morning in the garden playing with the chiselers. Nap/Football/Beer time now.

Really enjoying this HB German Pilsner.

Your nails are longer than @blizzard lol

That's my MO. I love FB to keep in touch with a) my beer/mead friends and b) my rock/metal friends. Other than those, it's pretty much a way to share pictures with friends and family elsewhere or to keep track of events. I tend to stay away from political and religious BS (same thing IMO), and I am very liberal with the unfriending and blocking when I think it's called for.

Back home from Comic-con beer:

It's definitely a time waster, but as others have said, I'm pretty good at blocking people. I have a ton of friends that are in the pyramid scheme bs. That does drive me crazy. But, I like some of the groups I'm in. Milk the Funk is an awesome science/learning funky beer page.

Me want! How do oak chips compare?

That soup looks super good. The wild pheasant killer. I'm going to do something I never do and probably take that butt out at 190 195 instead of the usual 200.

You get a lot more vanilla and oak from the barrel especially an used bourbon. Oak chips what i used i havent really notice as must as these but a cheaper option.

Making dinner and going to watch some movies
