Oh man... The holidays were not nice to my body. I felt like a big stupid giraffe or something out there today. Slow and winded, too much food and laziness apparently.

Ah well, I have three months to train before this major tournament.

Water and smoke and bed.

On topic: here's a picture of an ottoman.

I'm not super familiar with that part of town, but there's bound to be a Spec's or a Total Wine nearby.

Total wine was going to be my first response. Seems to have a much better selection (and prices), FME. Specs isn't so bad, but since places around here stopped being dry, competition has been pretty good.

What tournament....sport? Chess?

@drunklejon that seems like great news but has left you conflicted and I'm sorry to hear. This may sound stupid but make pros and cons list and/or least jot down some ideas

It's been my experience saying no can have bad ramifications depending on where you work. Is working late a normal expectation of your kind of work.

@Psylocide practices the ancient art of cardboard tube fencing.

That is actually a thing? Holy crap. Actually, he beats people with a stick and wears a funny mask.

Yeah, I cant say I am not tempted. We are a 24/7 shop so there are always people here. I have turned down being moved to this afternoon shift at least three times now. Looks like they are sweetening the pot with the new title and other stuff. I will probably take it, but it is not something I am going to do for peanuts.

My evening went crappy last night so I went to bed early. Woke up feeling rested for the first time in a while and this coffee is good so life is looking up. Cheers all.

Aside from the obvious vacation and mo money, I think Mike is spot on. Training/certification is something that would make you more marketable should they fail to deliver on the move back to days and the track you want.

Waiting for the train to go the last agonizingly slow mile to Stamford so I can get more coffee.

Full Throttle.

Already cleaned a keg this morning... kegging my hoppy amber on lunch.

For those who were concerned and those who were not... just got brutally sick for the last two days. If I wasn't sleeping, I was trying to eat and failing. Back at the office now. Reading all the posts of people who talk about my hops behind my back. You'll get yours. :shakesfist:

Happy birthday @psylocide and thanks for putting up with my ****ty brewing questions.

Testing stomach with some coffee.

Thanks man... good to see you back.

^This^ We're flying in early Friday (and home late Sunday). Going to be staying at the Marriott right next to the park. The only unfortunate thing is that there will be no line bottle shares or inside bottle shares (no outside alcohol allowed in, and no lines forming until 10am). Guess we'll have to set something up the night before or maybe morning of at the Marriott. lol

There should be a share the night before, but I haven't heard about what hotel others are staying at. That Marriot is like $350 a night. I'm not staying there.

Back at work today for the first time since Dec 17th. Taking it easy, do not want to pull something.

Happy Birthday Psylocide, hope you have a good one.

Glad to see you back CAD. Was beginning to wonder where you'd got to.

Happy Birthday @psylocide (Nice avatar hat)

@Psylocide now...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
@thecadjockey sorry to hear you were sick. Yes, your absence was noted. You need to stay healthy man! You have a lot of brewing to do.

Coffee. Pretty sure the closet trolls took in the waist of my dress slacks since the last time I wore them (a year ago). I mean, I am fat, but now I feel fattER! haha sheesh. No food for me today.

Happy birthday man! Dont get too plowed at lunch. On second, you probably should. :D

Wish I had time... need to get tubing on lunch. Old auto siphon snapped at the bend last night and I just said **** it. Threw the tubing and all.

Luckily I had another autoshiphon, so at least I don't have to go to the lhbs.

Is the science bit over. I was getting all excited. The friendly place just became more noticably geek-friendly.

I still haven't seen episode 7 yet so I can't hang out with my fellow anoraks in the Starwars (with spoilers) thread.

This was a welcome tangent. LOL

Feeling less guilty about posting my poached eggs now.

Quick update on the @Gavin inspired Founders Randalled with poached eggs: the yoke added a nice, creamy mouthfeel, but definitely ruined the head. Should have added bacon for extra smokiness.
