Surprised you have enough bugs to need one? I thought places that are a frozen wasteland in the winter were generally pretty goat the rest of the year.

More bugs in Michigan in the summer than just about anywhere. Where I live, we have fishfly hatches so big they look like storms on weather radars.

Anywhere you have lots of fresh water, you've got lots of bugs.

This "storm" forming over Lake Erie is a swarm of bugs emerging from their larvae stage from the bottom of the lake. We call them fishflies, most people call them mayflies.

The bugs were out in force today. I'm hoping these couple days bring a major hatch of every obnoxious bug in the area. And then we get one last good hard deep freeze to kill the little buggers (*bah dum tsschh*) off.
