Wait til I start actually reviewing homebrew.

@Venari will be coming by to be a brew buddy for my next batch of beer (probably easter weekend, maybe sooner) and we'll be swapping homebrews. And drinking a bunch. I'll try to remember to get us to post up our hilariously inadequate review notes.

Ha... she's attended a couple of my training sessions and a tournament.

"Dad, watch me I can yell real loud like you!"

Starts swinging that broom around and just screaming "HIIIIII YAAAAA!" She did it for like 5 mins straight. I was loving it.

The boy helped me unpack the beer mail last night.

"Dad, this sure is a lot of beer."

"Yeah Bud, people decided they liked Daddy more than he deserves. It's kind of crazy."

"So now you don't have to brew it anymore."

"That's crazy talk. Don't let Mama hear you."

I have an uncle who is severely mentally handicapped, and it has now lead to various physical handicaps. He lives in a group home. From my experiences with him when he is staying with his sisters, I can imagine that yours is very exhausting job.

It can be. More so mentally. It's good preparation for a kid one day. Two of them are really quite funny, so that makes it go much easier. One of them has extreme autism, and that one is pretty much only exhausting. The only bad part about the job is that it's shift work. So I mostly work evenings, but then I have a few mornings thrown in there, which are not easy to wake up for when my body's on a different schedule. Though my boss likes me, so out of the 6-week schedule, I only have one weekend. Otherwise, it's an incredibly rewarding job.

Once we start to have kids and my wife finishes dentistry school, I want to either become a manager or own my own brew store, or start a brewpub. As I said, the microbreweries have pretty much reached saturation point in this country, but brewpubs are few and far between here for some reason.

So Clint, as I go into the cellar to box up a package this weekend can you guess what level (say as a percentage) your liver will be functioning by next Friday? I want to make sure I pack enough to take it down to zero. :D

On to water while trying to play catch-up on work after doing training for three days.

So did I mention about house already? It was actually very, very nice. Whoever did the remodeling work a couple of years ago did a fantastic job. New roof, windows etc last year too. It's a great deal for the price. That said, not for us. Too far out afterall. Plus it was a tad small. Probably just rent for another year and see what is avail then.

What would be the average square footage out in those parts?

After last night, I doubt I'll be engaging in much box killing for a while. Tryna keep it as low key as possible, stay out of rehab, be able to continue enjoying the only hobby I'm any good at, so on and so forth.

So my liver may be functioning pretty well. I like to make plans and then do the exact opposite.

Not really a good answer. There's such a mix of old and new homes here across areas that you can get 900sqft bungalos up to giant monstrosities. Just the wife and I, horsedag. We don't need anything big. I'm more interested in a large garage and back yard with covered patio than anything else.

Our place now is 1400 square feet, I couldn't imagine moving into places that are smaller, but that's all my wife has been looking at. Nice property, but small for what we need. I can't see a family of five with two dogs moving from 1400 sqft to 1000 with the same number of rooms
Wish places out here were cheaper.

Hi Guys! BdG samples. Gonna get my bottle on here in a bit. The beer is 16 months old and stable at 1.018 for all those folks that think mixed ferment = 1.000. Probably fruit half just to delay some of the work.

Yeah 5 is a bit different than our situation. Our townhouse right now I want to say is 1100 sqft. It's plenty of room for us. Same. Homes out here are 300K+, not necessarily nice either.

Ugly IPA recipe (original)

5.5 gal - OG 1.054, FG 1.007 ~ 60 IBU.

8 lb 2-row
.5 lb Caramunich
.5 lb flaked oats
2.5 oz black patent
1 lb corn sugar
1oz centennial @ 60 - 33 ibu
1 oz centennial @ 30 - 25 ibu
1 oz citra @ flameout
1 oz mosaic @ flameout

Mashed @ 151

1 oz Citra dry hop - 5 days @ day 5
1 oz Mosaic dry hop - 3 days @ day 9

*****I would cut the black patent back to 1 oz or so to get a lighter red color.*****

Yeah. So I rotate between them. There's a few others that live on the same floor, but they are both severely mentally and physically handicapped. So not so much my expertise. I only work on the one floor. The two below us are for the mentally unstable, or for rehabbing addicts. It's quite creepy sometimes, when one of those people ends up in the elevator with you. There's this one lady particularly who's probably 1-2" taller than me (I'm 6'2"), and super goth-y looking, and just really creepy. Turns out she's a really incredibly nice lady, but let's just say I was always mentally ready in fight mode in case she decided to go psycho on me in the elevator.

Definitely fun being stuck in an elevator with someone who's mentally unstable. Been working in a group home as a supervisor for over 9 years. All my people are 55+ and mentally ill. First day on the job I had a lady yelling at me to stop throwing my voice. Didn't know what the **** I was getting myself into.

It's good that your family will bring him home. So many families have nothing to do with their family members. Pretty pathetic.

I think my house is like 1800 Sq ft not including the basement. Housing here is cheap. Eventually I need to either finish the basement or move to something bigger.

WE HAVE BEER DROP.

@m00ps the driver didn't see my note, they'll be back Monday with it. Wifey will be home then, thankfully.

Any notes on recipe or technique? Or have you vanished back into the ether already?

Luckily, he has 5 sisters (4 still living) and they visit him and take turns taking him out of the home for weekends. I think they are saints. I do not know if I could deal with him for a whole weekend in my house. That sounds awful to say, but he is a big man, who is blind, can hardly walk, has seizures and functions at the level of a 3 year old. That is a lot to take into your home.

I have one uncle (married to this guy's sister) who is so funny around him. He doesn't cut him breaks like everyone else and will get into arguments with him. I love to see it happen and then tell my uncle (not the handicapped one) that I'm pretty sure he lost that debate. Pisses him off to no end....

11, holy jezz. CAD LEAPS and Flys through the house!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-yb2q-PxeU

Finally coming to the fermenter, he empties in the US-05 into the bung and reseals it.
as Depeche Mode spills from the speakers and he drips a puddle onto the floor, CAD is happy with his brew day.

Good game Psy, good game :D

Brilliant ending. Loved all that. Makes me want to play D&D. Never had the pleasure. I did have sex at University so there is that small consolation I suppose.

Brew day is tomorrow. These guys are just being turdy.

This has all been a sham? A fake brewday! For shame....for shame CAD .

I've always had signatures turned off. Don't care what people have in their fermenters and what not.

How will you expect to pick up a copy of Timelords 2034. You just going to happen upon the link?

I don't understand the allure of big houses. My house is about 1,500 square feet, plus a finished basement of about 1,200 square feet. I would like to have one more bedroom than we have (two kids are sharing a small room) but I wouldn't change anything else about my house.
