Life is good boys. 15 minutes left in the boil, sun is out on this beautiful day, everything has gone smoothy so far (almost too smoothy), mhurst bombed my porch, and this song just came on. Cheers!

Mama cookin breakfast with no hog.

I may have just taken a nap in the customer lounge at the dealership. Fox Snooze put me down.

Here are those magnets I mentioned the other day to @finsfan for anyone looking to beef up their stirplate's performance. I rarely make a starter less than 2.5L (usually 3 to 3.5L for lagers including an overbuild).

This cheap and simple setup is great. I run the stirplate full blast.

Here is why I do that

Anyway this may be of minimal use to folks.

Kids slept in until 7 and 8, then lounged for a few hours. Dropped daughter off at gymnastics, then had a cup of coffee at son's hockey game. Gonna take the kids out to lunch, then likely run to the lhbs to pick up some ingredients.

More helpful than several of the threads here. Most assume I know what random part names are, or that I have random computer parts at home. Don't work on computers, don't do wiring, I grow food darn it!

Good info, thanks! I've been meaning to build one for a while, just haven't done it yet.

A former clubmate had a homemade stir plate that was more than capable of getting a good vortex, with a 1.5 or 2" stir bar, in a 5 gallon starter (final step for a 55 gallon batch). I just bought mine from Northern Brewer, and haven't had a problem up to a 3.5 liter starter in a 5L flask (haven't needed to go bigger than that, when I need more I've always just done steps).

Just got back from a tapas 'brunch' with some people I met while hiking this fall. Good catching up. The sangria didn't hurt neither. Now it's nap time. You all ramble too much. So hard to keep up

Would love a beer about now, but want to drive to the LHBS after the hot water heater gets swapped (thankfully they showed up already - instead of the original 6-10pm time window!)

Thanks! Kid can't seem to catch a break. Although this is really nothing in the scheme of things. Could be a lot worse. He had to wear one of those cranial helmets for about 8 weeks several months back, and the kid powered right through it with. Smile on his face the whole time. Didn't even seem to notice it. (And now that he's sitting up and crawling all over the place, I kind of want to put it back on sometimes...)

Mine had his helmet for 5 months. No real problem with it, either, except for head sweat.

The adhd is strong in this crew for sure.

No, it isn .. Squirrel!

Westbrook Gose with lunch, then back to painting shelves and sorting out old clothes.

Looks good except for the hothouse tomato, I hate hothouse tomatoes!
Need beer.

Meh, the tomatoes are fine. It's that lettuce that's garbage. And, holy crap I'm a fatty. Ate that entire thing.
