Back in the day they were nom much of a headache. starting twisting wretches when i was 19. the new stuff i just scratch my head, then close the hood ...

Haha, we'll call it a tie!

I'm an auto mechanic in my real life. Sorry you and your Minion are having to do head gaskets on the side. Not fun.

Buddy has done entire engine rebuilds so feeling confident. No real rush, just get it right. We both work as high tech mechanics in the semiconductor industry. He's just got more auto experience.

He did leave a Ranger here! I put jalapeno and vanilla into my limeaid secondary. Also added cocoa nibs/Vanilla beans to the chocolate stout. My 3rd brew with the new equipment finally came out drinkable!

That's how I start every day.

Then I open the hood back up and get to work. Timing chains and tensioners on a 5 Liter. Oh Boy!! UGH!!

You might appreciate this. We got hung up and called it a day due to a stupid nut. 3 of 4 radiator fan nuts came easy, 4th, we tried 12mm box end, the vice grips, no go...and now it's rounded. I have 'JB Weld' to a 12mm on it now. If no-go in AM, will use my reciprocator saw on it and go with only 3 studs..

Now..

I love the work you do. Creative combinations. How's the new gear? Glad you're are getting truck fixed. Its always something stupid, a radiator fan nut really, bummer. Hope weld works.

Had a ranger at dinner. Worked in garage all day, drinking upslope ipas. Backsplash put in today. It looks waaay better.

Ugh that bites, there's always something. Just throwing this out there. Are the drive belts still on? Could be rust or cross threaded, but what happens sometimes is tension from the belts is cocking the drive pulley now that the other 3 bolts are off causing the last nut to bind. Either take off the belt and find a way to hold the pulley or put one nut back on the opposite side while you break the last one loose.

Yep, belts are off. We tried putting a nut back on with no go. Pretty sure Firestone f-ed us from their work 4 years ago..

Like the splash apple. I need to redo mine...maybe in 2020. Getting more used to the pump/chiller setup. Stout appears to have come out nice. PA just brewed, numbers are more normal and fermenting away. Not seeing this 80% efficiency others talk about, must be the way their calculating. Most important part is the no heavy lifting and 3.5hr brew days from 7hrs.

^^yeah it was part of our refy remodel. It seemed pretty easy to do as no spacers were needed. They just connect.

Hope you get that bolt cut off. Sucks to hear.

Morning y'all

Getting serious about my keezer build soon, I even started ordering parts so it's on now! Now if only this crazy Georgia weather would cooperate and cool down enough to make it tolerable to work in my garage.

Hey @inkleg do you ever make it up north? I've got my APA on tap and there's a few bottles with your name on them if we can figure out how to get them to you.

Happy friday brewinbro

I have a funny gif for you but cant seem to be able to attach from giphy help!

Good luck with keezer king. I want one because of said 5 gallons of energy drink. Well that and i can have more than one beer going. Come to think of it i could have diet coke on tap too. Now i want one thanks a lot.

Isn't that why we are all here? To encourage each other's addictions?

Haha, welcome to the South. Don't worry, it'll get worse.

Honest truth, I don't get out much, but we need to meet up again. If I know I'll be heading up your way I'll defiantly give a shout. I'll be at Operation Homebrew around two on Saturday and I plan to brew this Sunday. You are more than welcome to swing by the house then and bring the fiancé if she'd like to come. Still have my card?

I do! I will be brewing up a pilsner on Saturday but we don't have any plans for Sunday, so a trip down your way might not be a bad idea. I'll talk it over with her ladyship and let ya know. I've got your number

Thanks, and happy Saturday to to you as well. 24 years ago when I came up with applescrap, a derivation from the Charlie parker song scrapple from the Apple, I told my cousin. His response was that's apples crap! I was like oops. Anyways either is right obviously and not everyone sees it both ways. You are clever. It has come up on this thread 2 or 3 times. Neither variation bothers me. Cheers. Your turn what is bromanite?

Haha. So I'm not the only one that was curious. Must have missed the prior chatter about it on this thread. Was doing my morning throne blogging/HBT time, so seemed as good a time as any to pose the question. FWIW - I've always read it as "Apple-Scrap".

My bro-in-law and I got started brewing together a few years ago. (He got us each duplicate sets of your standard 5 gallon extract starter sets one Xmas), and my sister made us shirts for brew days that said: Brew-in-Bromanites. We made fun of her because "Brewin' Bromanites" would've looked slightly better on the shirts, and it just stuck I guess.
