You don't really need a flask for a starter (though it does make my family think I'm doing science which adds legitimacy to this degenerate hobby). Just use a pot.

Don't forget the lab coat too. Mine is hanging up near the brewery door.

What about those mythical old English recipes that had a dead rooster or goat or whatever thrown in the vat? Could get some prions in your beer that way, no? Maybe something else would kill you first.... [emoji848]
