55gal SS Vix-Vapor, Can I Sanitize?

Just got word of (3) 55 gallon stainless steel drums that had some sort of a Vix-Vapor rub in them. He's asking $50 a piece for them.

Curious what people think about being able to santize and potentially using for brewing?

Pressure washer and some hot soaks in soapy water and oxiclean should do the trick nicely. Nice score for $50ea.

Hell yeah! And your sinuses will be really clear after cleaning the drums.

Yea a good wash will get them all clean. Great score!!

It probably wasn't vics vaporub. It was probably tea tree oil. It often gets shipped in stainless drums. It smells very similar. Soap, water and pbw should take care of it.
