I wish more breweries would do release parties the way Dark Horse and Kuhnhenn do... whole bunch of different awesome bottles available instead of a single imperial stout that they're known for. I dream of the day that I can buy a couple bottles of Misanthrope along with my allotment of Darkness.

Yeah. Hopefully they won't go through stuff quite as fast at Kuhnhenn, as they did at Dark Horse. I'm mainly referring to BB4D and BBPt5. I think with the smaller max quantity allowed, it should be a little easier to get. Also, I live MUCH closer to Kuhnhenn, so there's that.

While i agree with you, this was the first year where everything bottled but one beer with a one bottle allotment was good. You have to see the terrible execution from previous years' beer to really appreciate how awesome the beers at 4Elf were this year.

I really regret some previous years' purchases.

Did they at least have them on tap so you could try before you buy?

This year order forms had to be in at 7am. Party didn't even start until 11am. I suppose you could cancel your order...

Previous years I was lucky enough to try some awful lambeaks before buying them. There are often beers for sale that are not on tap.

This year, there was only one beer for sale that was not on tap, which was the 6 Pairs of Legs Double BBA Maple Porter. Everything else was. The forms did not have to be in by 7, because I got there at 9, however, even people who got there at like 5:30ish didn't get any BB Plead.

I got there the night before and I was number 60. My pickup time was 11:45 or something. No way i could try every beer in that time aanyways.

Definitely not, but I liked how they had three different stations. There was little to no wait for samples.

I had to drive all the way back to Novi, that night, so I wasn't able to party hard. That 1.5 hour trip turned into a 2.5 hour trip, because of how bad the roads were. Lesson learned. Next year, I'm getting a hotel room. I'm not going to go to DH super early to buy bottles. I'll just get whatever is left over, and enjoy everything I want at the actual party.

I showed up early, partied my ass off, slept in my van, picked up bottles then had to leave. Having to leave was the only thing I would have changed, but was unavoidable. Otherwise I'll do the same thing next year. I had a ******* blasty blast.

I also liked how so many people were too hammered/hungover to stay for the party. Made it much more enjoyable.

This was definitely the redeeming quality of the shitshow the line became. Loved rolling in at 11am and having absolutely no one there and trying all the awesome beers.

Who here was gullible enough to believe the Pappy Plead troll?

Trying to justify claiming 50% of the credit of this genius move.

Do you know why some were dipped in a different color wax? Was the beer different, or was it for shnitzngiggles?

They just ran out of silver wax and switched to bronze.

I'm too lazy to read through all these pages: can anyone tell me what 4 pack of BBPT5 cost?

I love that $10 each wasn't enough. This ********** just had to throw on an extra buck.
Can't make 100% profit at $10 each, I expect. Oh well. I don't mind a bit of a convenience fee for my being able to stay in bed that morning and avoid you dick touches, but $11 seems a bit extreme to me.

Shiiiiiiiiiiit. I would have knocked that guy out too.
Then we likely shouldn't hang out. Violence in unacceptable in this case. The dude yelling was out of line, but putting hands on him put the other guy completely in the wrong...way, way, way in the wrong.
