New to this whole brewing gig. My buddy and I do strictly biab at the moment. He went out and got the blichmann 60 quart. I found a steel on a 40 gallon stainless kettle. I think his blichmann is 15.5" across. Mine is only 19. Im never going to be doing anything smaller than 5 gallon finish sizes. Some traditionalist that I talk to are saying my surface area is to large to do 5 gallon batches. But with only 3.5" different than the popular blichmann I find this hard to believe. Is there anything I should be concerned about? I've got better things to spend my money on with this new hobby than a smaller kettle !
Thanks!
