After moving from primary to seconday today, I estimate I'm about .5 gallons shy of 5... Lots of aeration when I poured my wort into last beers yeast, no doubt. Aeration creates bubbles, which make it really difficult to measure 5 gallons through side of bucket scale (Maybe I should start weighing it?). Anyway, I'm wondering whether to mess with it or not. What would you do?

Thanks.

Did you take an OG reading when you brewed? When I brew, I check the OG and if it's a bit high I add water to get to the correct OG.

Those buckets are also notorious for not being accurate on the measuring line. So, I'd probably do nothing this time and double check the volume measurement on the bucket for next time!

Thanks for the response. Looking at my notes on that brew, my OG came out right. Seems with brewing I'm always sacrificing accuracy for time. As I mentioned, the primary was loaded with bubbles... This makes it more difficult to measure the OG unless I move some of the brew into another container. So my accuracy of reading OG may have some error. Yep, I'm learning. No doubt my process needs to improve if I expect consistency. Happy brewing.
