2009 Fantasy Football Veterans League

Meh, I couldn't make it back to the house in time to live-draft, and I hadn't pre-ranked (thinking I was going to draft), so my team pretty much defined "meh." I'll say, though, that by the end of previous years, the teams that I've had (which have generally been pretty good) tend to bear very little relation to the teams that I started out with, it's all about the adjustments, the matchups, looking for young players who are ready to break out, taking advantage of when other teams drop players for various reasons.

'Brewtus, how long is the waiver period this year?

The waiver period is going to be whatever it was last year (checking the league to see what it's set to) - 2 days.

I'm weak on WR, that's for sure. I think otherwise I'm ok, at least at this point!

Many of my players play Monday night, so we won't know for sure until Tuesday morning how badly I've beaten Boston.

Well, I got violated like a city ordinance yesterday. Freakin' AP... freakin' John Carlson (I don't think he scored two TDs the whole time I owned him last year)... freakin' Reggie Wayne.

At least Romo looked good, and my flier on Sanchez looks like it might pay off down the road.

Now, if Vincent Jackson can go for, oh... hundred yards and four touchdowns, I can pull this off!

Last night was weird... I was up by like half a point, had Tomy Romo starting, the Alter Boys had two players active... both of whom were Dallas wide receivers. Any TDs they scored would have been six points for me, too

Ha! I brought it up because I don't think he's done anything to his team since the season started. He autopicked and left Cassel in to start last week when he was inactive, Pierre Thomas was announced out early in the week and was left in there - then has Quentin Demps starting at a D spot and he hasn't scored a single point yet.

I seriously don't think that he's done anything with his team yet. Or *maybe* this is all some kind of olllllo jedi mind trick.

Either way, I did enjoy the 100+ point victory.

Well, WTF do you have Deion Branch on your team for - he hasn't been a good FFB player in what, four years? And if your insane man-love for all things Detroit didn't blind you, you'd have started "Action" Fred Jackson over Kevin "Not As Funny, Or As Fat" Smith and cracked 150.

Just checking in to say I'm touching my team a bit (more than Rob I guess). And yes, I still owe the rastafarian some ka-ching. I'm good for it, just still f'ing around with my old cash holding corporation Bank of America "except for the state of MN" up here. I got's to update my paypal but also am switching the suck-butt bank I chose so I have to stabilize this.

Gotta tell ya moving across country sux arse. No wait, that wasn't that bad; it's the new job thing that blows. At least I brewed a batch of beer this last weekend. It's been since January.

And like my smack says. Peyton will have an aneurysm this eve.

You're right, I'm wishing I would have put Fred Jackson in over Kevin Smith. Although I did score 140+ points with him in there, so I think I did alright.

As for Deion Branch, he's the best that was left at the time I was looking for a bench receiver with an off bye week from my starters - FOOL!

And really, I want to take satisfaction in my victory over olllllo this week considering the .1 point victory he had over me in week one last year, but knowing that he hasn't touched his team I just can't.

I was pretty crest-fallen with my autopick team and admit to ignoring them for 2 weeks, but I will turn things around.
