Tomorrow I will brew my first beer. I want to keep the first time as simple as possible. I have a Muntons pre hopped IPA kit and the instructions say to just sprinkle the yeast on the top of the wort. It seems that everyone uses some sort of starter. I would like to be able to just sprinkle the yeast for simplicity the first time, but I also want it to work. Any advice?

Dry yeast doesnt benefit from a starter. Stir the yeast into about a half cup of warm water to rehydrate. Rehydrate about 15-20 minutes before pitching. Be sure to sanitize anything that touches the yeast.
