Hey everyone, did my first ever batch of a brown ale 2 nights ago and had a lot of activity within 30hrs and now things have slowed considerably. I have my gallon jug sitting in a wine chiller to control the temp View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1422730848.824675.jpg
There's a bunch of trub already on the bottom but my question is the lighter color on top of the trub. Could that be a sign of some kind of infection? Thanks

The white layer you're referring to looks like a nice yeast bed. The darker layer under the white yeast leader would be the protein and hops settlement.
