Are Northern Brewer and Mid West Supplies related?
I was looking for hop rhizomes and the two sites read the same....

They may be getting their rhizomes from the same third party grower/seller, and just copied and pasted their info directly from that company's website/promotional material into their own, in otherwords being lazy.

Yes, the thought crossed my mind.
Then I thought how similar the MAPY names....
:D

There were rumors about 2 years ago about the two merging but I don't think there was ever a formal announcement.

I believe that the investment firm that owned Midwest also bought Northern Brewer. So, I don't think either company owns the other, but instead they share a common parent. As sibling companies, they share some resources (i.e., online fulfillment).

More or less this. I don't know the details, but they are related now.

OK, so like siblings sharing clothes!

One replied they don't ship rhizomes internationaly,
pretty much a waste of time asking the other. (???)

Thanks for the answers.

I just looked into this and I might be wrong. It kinda looks like Northern does own Midwest.

Here's the investment co. that owns Northern. No mention of Midwest. The language "multi-channel marketer" might mean they sell through Midwest. Further, Northern's privacy policy mentions a "subsidiary company".

I treat them the same for all practical purposes.

There are several other rhrizome sellers out there. Have you checked with any of them? I just placed an order through Great Lakes Hops. I ordered from them before and I loved their product. Big crowns, not tiny sticks. That was a couple of years ago. This year's purchase is in the mail right now.

oh, yes I plan on trying everyone I can find to ask. Getting people to send plants overseas is getting very difficult! I have asked 10 vendors so far... not the two just mentioned they're next...

Ah. Never noticed where you were. There may be laws against such a thing. I know hops can and will grow like crazy if they are left to their own desires.
