I don't know what your idea of cheap is, as every one has a different idea of what cheap is to them, but you can get a really great drip tray from ACU for a really great price. I know their prices have gone up since I paid $56 for mine back in May '06 due to the increase in the price of stainless steel, but I think they are still under $75.

I'm ordering two of these stainless steel two piece sponge trays. I have one in my kitchen and they'd be perfect for the job. Total cost, $20.

I got one of these screwed to the door of my kegerator.
I've seen ones with a hose through the door going into a gallon jug so you do not have to empty them as often.

Go to http://www.barproducts.com/index.php and search for "shaker mat" Only a few bucks, and they actually look Ok. You can probably find bigger shaker mats or bar mats on ebay or other restaurant/bar supply stores if you are so inclined.

I'd go to your local bar (where everybody knows you name) and make a convincing case for them to give you one of those rubber bar mats. Because you can't get no cheaper than free......
you can just see it but my drip tray is a floor grill and it works fine. i had our sho[p fab up a shallow pan out of galvanized sheet metal
