    Larger Than Normal Boil Off

    I brewed a Two Hearted clone today and after the mash I ended up with 5.5 gallons. At the end of boil I was at about 4 gallons. I had the boil off value for my system set to 0.5 gal in Beersmith which should have been 1 gal. But what about the other half gallon? It is about 20 degrees Fahrenheit...

    Secondary Fermentation With Fruit No Activity

    I did a pale ale and added grapefruit to the secondary. I used WLP051 at 68 F. I transferred to the secondary 4 days ago and have seen no activity other than the liquid in the airlock is pushed to one side. I expected a blowoff should I be concerned? The gravity was 1.030 and is now 1.020.
