    Smelly CO2 Hose

    I just bought a distributor and added a second CO2 line. The new co2 hose has a weird plastic smell to it, which is not present in my other hose. Will the affect the flavor of the beer? Should I wash the hose before I use it? Thanks!

    Has anyone used Safale US-05 at low temp?

    I'm going to be brewing an American Golden and I'm using Safale US-05 yeast. I'd like to keep the beer as clean and crisp as possible, so I'm thinking about fermenting at a lower temperature - probably around 58. Has anyone used this yeast at the lower end of the temp range? Thanks!

    Does anyone else use acid carboys?

    I picked up a 6.5 gallon "acid" carboy over the summer and used it for the first time last weekend. This thing is HUGE! I think it's closer to 7.5 gallons. Does anyone else use this style of carboy? Can you get airlocks that screw into the threads at the mouth of the carboy?

    6.5 Gal carboy with screw top - ok for primary?

    Immersion chiller - can you draw from ice water?
