Trying to pick up where I left off.

I joined this forum a little over 10 years ago. Lets just say, I have dropped out of the classroom for a while. Since that time most of my brewing equipment has been "borrowed" out and/or turned into garden art and flower pots. My beer kegs actually made a really cool hydroponic system ;). I...

my dad's been up for retirement for the past 5 years for his job as fisheries biologist for the louisiana wildlife and fisheries. he's like to keep that job just because he basically fishes for a living, but current politics in the workplace are driving him out the door. he said for the days...

first time near beer, this time rocket fuel

so i was in a bit of a hurry and bombarded with cooking, watching my daughter, and cleaning my equipment. i didn't really have too many chances to look at my recipe while i was brewing. i used whole hops leaf and it seemd to soak up the water a good bit more than the pellets i used last time...

so how much dilution is needed to be safe for vegetation? i left a bucket out and he dumped it into his flower bed... whoops. i forgot to tell him what was in that bucket... kinda thought he'd have more sense than to just throw a random bucket of liquid into his flower bed. guess i should...

close to first time brewing success?

well 2 weeks into my bottle conditioning, i decided to crack on open and venture into the tasting of the brewing process. my first taste was by accident, because my autosiphon broke and i had to resort to siphon by mouth (which incorporated the green beer taste to my virgin pallet). i had...
