Virginia Richmond, VA area - free equipment

I haven't brewed in 5+ years so I'm giving away my homebrew equipment. Everything is as-is and some of it is pretty dusty as it has been in my garage since my last batch. I'll attach as many pics as I can. I've got a keggle with a hopback (no lid and no burner) BetterBottles/carboys carboy...

    Potential future resident

I'm maybe/probably/soon-to-be moving to NH. I've visited before and it looks like the Concord area was our favorite compared to Nashua and Keene. I'm looking for input on the towns of Bow, Bedford, and Hollis. I know Bedford and Hollis are further south but I'm keeping our options open while...

just broke a front sealing faucet on a 2 faucet tower

So my question is, are towers front sealing only OR rear sealing only? Or, should I be able to replace my broken rear sealing faucet with a front sealing faucet? I would prefer a front sealing faucet but I would also prefer not to replace the good faucet and good tower at this time. EDIT: I...

10 gallon mash tun (cooler, false bottom, valve)

Looking for a 10 gallon cooler converted into a mash tun. Would prefer it to already have the false bottom and valve installed. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Mash-Tun-Stainless-Bottom/dp/B00D7JDLNO

    old hobbies

SWMBO says I should start up some old hobbies again to deal with my stress. She asks what my old hobbies were. I tell her comic books and more video games. She frowns and says I should buy a new chiller so I can brew again. Whatever you say, dear! :mug:

going to Denver, where should I stop for beer?

Great Divide is a given and I've read that Wynkoop and Strange Brews are good, where else should I be trying to hit while in town? I think we are also going to drive to Fort Collins for a New Belgium tour. I have no desire to go to the Ballpark brewery or any other BMC-brand breweries. :mug:

Fixing connections on a Phils counterflow chiller

What is the best way to fix a Phil's counterflow chiller with bad hose connections? They hose connections slide off of the chiller too easily. the plastic clamps/zip ties that held them on broke way too easily. What else can be used for a more permanent fix?

    Asheville, NC breweries and brewpubs?

Looks like Asheville has a lot of breweries around town. Any good or bad news about any of them? I'm hoping to hit Highland and then 1 or 2 more for lunch/dinner if any are brewpubs like Jack of the Wood. Opinions are welcome! I'm spending the afternoon on Saturday at Biltmore. I have...

my cfc is stopping me from brewing

I have one of those Phil's Couter Flow Chillers but it has seen better days. The hose connections are loose and leak, plus the tie-downs are broken so it seperates from the copper. I hate cleaning out the damn thing and I'm always afraid of what I may have left inside of it for my next batch...

LT interview for new Blitz game

This was a part of an interview on espn.com with Lawrence Taylor. He's the spokesman for Blitz II. The best part of the interview was his answer to this question about when he broke Theismann's leg: lawlz! He didn't do us any favors, we've had to listen to Theismann for over 20 years now.

I went to Russian River while I was in CA last week! this was painted on the back entrance window...I chuckled. Got to try some of the famous beer that we can't get here on the east coast. I had a couple Pliny's and another IPA....They were unfortunately out of Blind Pig. I loved the...

    Cloverfield

Saw Cloverfield tonight, good movie, really intense in some parts. However, if I were in that situation, there is no way in hell I'd be going back for anybody if I saw that thing stomping on my city. Also, don't you think they kind of gave away the ending a bit when the movie first started?

    HDTV's

Who has one? What do you think of yours? Santa will be bringing me one this year, 1080p and probably 40-42". Anything I need to know while shopping for one? My dad has a Sharp Aquos which is really nice. I've heard good things about Vizio and I know they are at Costco and are cheaper than...

    anyone have a home warranty?

Anyone have a home warranty? Our agent bought us one for 1 year when we bought our house and it is soon up for renewal. It's $456 for a year through American Home Shield. I'm interested in anyone's experiences with these warranties and if you think they are a good idea. My house is 10 years old.
