    San Diego Craft Beer

I'll be in San Diego for the next week. Any recommendations for blogs or Twitter feeds to key me into anything happening beer related? I was there last year for a week and hit a decent amount of breweries. I am hoping to get a bit deeper into it this year. Sorry if this is the wrong place to...

    Plate chillers

We have been using a duda diesel plate chiller and a bazooka screen on our dip tube for 5 years and have not any clogs (knock on wood). We use almost only whole leaf hops and when they settle, they create a nice filter bed. I think this bed goes along way towards preventing clogs and also...

    Bottle/Can Storage Solutions

I'm starting to layout my new French door kegerator build. I plan to only have taps in one door and use the other side for can and bottle storage. I will most likely have to build all new shelves on the storage side, so I am looking for some slick storage solutions. I would really like to find...

Co2 tank on it's side with a remote regulator

I want to lay my 5 lbs CO2 tank on it's side, in my fridge. It would be under a shelf that my kegs would be sitting on. I know you are not supposed to position them on their side without an anti-siphon tube. My plan is to use a 3' braided high pressure hose to relocate my regulator above my...

Leaves dieing from the inside out.

I'm having trouble diagnosing what is wrong with my hop plant. It's a 2 year old Willamette, and was really taking off this year. But down low the leaves are dieing.

    1" ID Food Grade hose

That's what I stated out looking for, but couldn't find 1" ID. Funny thing after I used the word "Platinum" I found some on McMastercarr. $5.87 a foot. Does that sound like a decent price?

    1" ID Food Grade hose

I am looking for some 1" ID food grade, high temp, tubing or hose. This will be coming out of my boil kettle. I found this http://www.mcmaster.com/#5567k26/=zis79x Kind of spendy, but I think it will work since it says food grade and is good to 230 degrees. Am I wrong? Here is the...

    1.5" Tri-clamp X 1/2" IPS Tee

I'm looking for a sanitary tri-clamp tee. I want at least two ends to be 1.5" Tri-Clamp, the other could vary, but I would perfer all three ends be 1.5" tri-clamp. The tricky part is that I want it to have 1/2" tube. I could go bigger, but the oulet of the pump is 1/2" and this will be down...

    55 Gallon Drum Fermentation

That much fermenting beer can create quite a bit of heat. Depending on the ambient temp that you ferment at you might need to come up with cooling solution.

    Tri-clamp/tri-clover kettle adaptors

Does the inlet of your mash tun have a Tri-clamp flange on the outside of the vessel and the inside? That is how mine is set up. You can hook Tri-clamp X 1/2" hose bard on both sides. Something like this ... https://www.brewershardware.com/1.5-Tri-Clover-X-1-2-Hose-Barb.html Brewers...

    Questions about citric acid passivation

I was working in a manufacturing facility and our passivation tank was heated. I never thought to ask much about it at the time. I believe I read some place that if you can't heat the solution to the correct temp you need to allow it to sit longer to compensate.

    Questions about citric acid passivation

I don't know if this helps but.... http://www.bssa.org.uk/topics.php?article=68 That says 4-10% to passivate. Maybe you should just pick up some bar keepers friend. You could us it as directed and just scrub the welded areas really good clean light duty scrub pad. I would use a fresh one so...

Can you give some info on your peristaltic pump? It looks like a Masterflex? Do you have a part # and maybe a source?

How long do you run your RIMS/HERMS?

Not to hijack, but I'm setting a HERMS and have a similar question. If my Herms is in the HLT do I need to circulate or stir the water in the HLT while I run my HERMS? This is an electric system and I figure I would get a more uniform temp in the HTL if I do.

    All Stainless Corny CIP System

I'm glad I stumbled upon this. I'm about to get 1 BBL setup from stout tank and I have been looking into a good procedure for cleaning the equipment after brewing and also a less labor intensive way of cleaning cornies once I kick up my production. I was going to use the following procedure for...

    Perlick flow control question

I am looking at upgrading my Keezer with a perlick forward sealing faucet with flow control. My question is, what is the max PSI that it can handle. I normally have one beer on tap and another on deck. I would like to split off my existing regulator and carb my next keg while I serve from the...

    Manual bar glass sanatizer???

Run them through the dishwasher without soap and cover up the hole where the non-spot rinse agent comes out. Janivar is right, the sanitze cycle will bake them good. I've done this, and bottled right out of the dishwasher. You can use the door as a catch for spelt beer.

    Keg cleaning

I would put a couple scoops of oxyclean in the keg and then fill it with the hotest water my hot water tank can produce. I would then let it sit until the water cooled (maybe 48 hours) and then dump it out. Then see how bad it is from there.
