Yes... thanks for putting this together... I put down 3 bags this morning and bought from Wine Workshop this past August when they had their sale... they are really good people to deal with.

Looking for a club in Atlanta Area, North East

I'm in downtown Suwanee and don't know of any clubs around here. I have an all electric setup and do ten gallon batches and I need to be brewing again since I only have ten gallons on reserve.

    Pumpkin beer help

The latest byo magazine has several different pumpkin beer clones... I did the Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale which is still fermenting after two weeks and that recipe called for the pumpkin to be put it the boil so I just put it in my hop spider... I had to settlt for Libby's canned...

    Best Commercial Pumpkin Beer

I never liked pumpkins but my brother convinced me to brew Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale clone... He's in the restaurant and bar industry with about fifty beers on tap and last year they kept selling out of it. I coincidentally found the recipe in the latest BYO magazine...

Why don't yeast companies just sell liquid yeast packages with higher cell counts?

Based on my experience with a twelve gallon batch... Cell count is what matters... My lagers at 46*F with 8 smack packs start kicking off within twelve hours... Ales less than 1.057 with five to six smack packs do the same. I would focus more on cell count than anything else. Sure you could...

Why don't yeast companies just sell liquid yeast packages with higher cell counts?

Well with all that said... I'm kind of excited now since I found a process that will work for me. I'm going to start canning wort in a pressure cooker in pint and quart jars and stick it in the pantry so any time I need a starter I can simply dump in an erlenmeyer flask or two using whatever...

Why don't yeast companies just sell liquid yeast packages with higher cell counts?

Here ya go... here's the Wyeast 2308 Mfg 7-16-2014, purchased on 7-25-14 and brewed on, 8-2-2014.... pretty viable.

Why don't yeast companies just sell liquid yeast packages with higher cell counts?

Well... it depends on how you look at things... to me... the yeast is the single most important thing and if I don't have the time or timing to do it correctly then I shouldn't even attempt it because in the grand scheme of things I'm still brewing a beer for less than a dollar per 12 ounce...

Why don't yeast companies just sell liquid yeast packages with higher cell counts?

Wow... Wyeast is $6.40 - 6.95 (depending if they remember to give me a discount) and if I point out that it's old they'll take another dollar off. I ran into a problem where they didn't have the Wyeast 2308 (Munich) and the Wyeast 2633 (Oktoberfest) so they just ordered it and had to put my...

Why don't yeast companies just sell liquid yeast packages with higher cell counts?

I think that's awesome and as time goes on I'll definitely work my way into that but for now, all things considered, I'd rather pay the extra money for more yeast, and work my way up to what you do. That being said... I ordered a pressure cooker and some pint jars after reading this byo...
