    you toss your scoby? i always just leave it alone until it gets too layer-y. what's your recipe/process. i assume the bugs that excrete the polypeptide matrix are getting plenty of nutrients to build. seems like a really healthy colony, so no worries there?

    Suggestions for lower ABV IPA?

    i find, for my own tastes, the og:ibu ratio is the most important factor. 4% beers just don't handle the ibu level of an IPA recipe. other than that, it's just a matter of scaling down the og from base malt as cmac said.

    Is it ok to use top cropped yeast from a NEIPA in an American Wheat?

    i'd 'crop' a bit more than normal, as i've heard/read that super hoppy beers can essentially coat the yeast cell in hop oils and render them more or less trapped. other than that, i think the yeast strains that are good for neipa should work very well with a wheat ale.

    best vehicle ever made. it seated 8 (thin) adults comfortable in two rows of bench seats that reversed or could be REMOVED ENTIRELY, turning it into a full sized cargo van. shame on chevy for discontinuing the perfect utility vehicle.

    craft beer drinkers, homebrewers especially love to hate the big boys. A-B is rated very high among the 'general public', therefore very low by the 'cool kids'. I dislike them as a company, but they brew what people want and do it well. vote with your dollars and things you like will...

    Alright this is gonna sound crazy but I'm calling it SCIENCE.

    It would be a fun experiment to use expired lme to make candy. if that tasted ok, then i might use that in a beer. if not, no wasted beer.

    Shaked my Keg - Will the beer clear up again?

    sediment will pool near the spear again, so first few will be murky, even after waiting for it to settle out. no way around that. if you're as bad at racking as i am, floating dip tube is the only way to go.

    i'd give it a shot. maybe spray a little soapy water around first to see if you still don't get a seal.
