    I made this 9 days ago. OG was 1.071! Praying for an FG of 1.000 or less! Still very active and actually looks like its turning clear again.... Any thoughts on when to transfer to corny keg?

    I ended up buying it anyways.. just couldn't pass it up for 34 bucks. I figure I can use the turkey pot and burner to heat up the sparge water and the other turkery pot will be at the bottom of my two tiered brew stand waiting for the delicious wort.

    Found it at Walmart... Only setback in my opinion is the timer that shuts off the gas after 15mins.... Should I buy it anyways?! Im leaning towards yes!

    Collecting yeast

    Had a buddy tell me today that he collects the trub and keeps it in the fridge and when he's ready to reuse it he adds yeast "food" to get it started again.... Does this work?! Seems too easy!

    dug up 2-3 yr old rhizome

    I ended up burying them in half barrel with organic mulch/manure... And then I covered them with some Leafs to help insulate them... Keeping my fingers crossed that they'll take off during the summer!

    Hey guys got a question for ya... When you attach the barb fitting to the ball valve on the inside of your container you don't use teflon tape right? But you do use teflon on the outside? Are there any additional parts needed (washers, etc) to put the ball valve in?

    Rhizomes in SE Michigan

    Ive been saying this on other posts... But you can't go wrong with great lakes hops. The crowns look like 5-6 thick rhizomes combined... Trust me theyre bigger than your hand is! I'm going to order another 50 crowns from them hopefully this coming spring!
