    Transplanting Yeast Cake

Batch 1 has a nice film of goodness on top. Batch two has no pressure activity and no film. Really weird. I haven't checked gravity

    Transplanting Yeast Cake

I made two batches of apple cider, with identical ingredients, about 4 days apart (maybe up to 7). The first batch (as has all others before) began fermenting wishing 24 hours and is nearly complete now. The second batch has been made almost a week and had ZERO activity. I'm wondering if the...

    Help!!!

I let it sit for an extra two weeks or so while I finished up finals at school.... Bad idea? I don't even have the bottles to do anything with it tonight... I'm quite sad...

    Help!!!

Just opened up my closet where my beer ferments and heard a little noise, like water running. My root beer had made a vacuum and sucked 3/4 of a mason jar of Star San up through the blow off hose... I'm sure it's ruined, but... Is it ruined? Dump it and restart? What do I do? And why did it...

    Can I use this yeast?

both, the yeast was in a bag under some clothes, so the packet wasn't directly in sun light, but Oklahoma sunshine warms things up quickly.

    Can I use this yeast?

I purchased a packet of Nottingham yeast and forgot that it was in my car. It's been 4 days in weather ranging from 75 degrees to 40 degrees. Can I still use this yeast in a batch of Cider? Wanted to get it started tonight, but it's the only yeast I have.

    Elementary my dear Watson

I used 2 lbs of dextrose in a cider batch and will get about 6.5% ABV. If I did 2.5 lbs, would that give me a higher ABV? Have a request for a batch but the guy wants a 7.5-8%. Not sure how to get it there.

    FG too high

Thank you sir. I'm leaving in primary instead of moving it today. Hopefully it'll come on down. I'll keep you guys updated.

    FG too high

Ok, it said it was a two week total fermentation so I was just going off of that. Nottingham if I'm not mistaken. Grain bill? It was 1lb oats, 10oz dark choc, 12 oz 2-row pale, 6 oz victory. Is that what you're asking about? Mash schedule? No idea. Boiled 1 oz Brewer's Gold Hops for 60 minutes...

    FG too high

I have had an oatmeal stout in primary for just under 7 days. I tested FG today and it should've been 1.016 - 1.020 but was still over 1.030. Do I just let it go for another 7 days and hope it comes down? Do I add more sugar or yeast? First time to ha issue (only my second brew hahaha). I...

    PEANUT BUTTER Milk Stout (how?)

I overheard talks of a peanut butter milk stout today and it really caught my interest. How does one create a peanut butter flavored beer? I am cooking up a milk stout tomorrow evening, but it is just a normal extract kit. I want to add to.

    Shiner Christmas Cheer Clone needed

I have found several threads that start out to make this but end up with something different. I'm really in search of the clone or even any ideas of how to get pecan flavor into my beer. I assume that racking the beer over fresh peaches in the secondary is still the best way to get peach flavor...
