After learning from making 1400 mL starters in 2000 mL flasks that foaming over is all but guaranteed without Fermcap, I just started a 2000 mL starter in a 5000 mL flask this morning. Came home from work and it had foamed all the way to the mouth and had some spill over.... This is WLP001. I'm getting some Fermcap in the mail tomorrow, so gonna use that moving forward.

Live and learn. Never boil or ferment in a erlenmeyer without FermCap. You're just inviting a geyser.
