has anyone used a propagator smack pack without a starter. I usually use the activator but they sent me the wrong one. I know it might sound strange but i do not have a flask or stir plate. I figure the worst that could happen is some lag time.

You could make a starter in your carboy and pitch on top of that 2 days later at high krausen. Just remove that quantity of water and DME from your recipe.
