So I have use yeast nutrient before with a liquid yeast instead of making a starter on two batches,
I am making a batch now and wondering if I have a gravity lower than 1060 what would be the benefit or would it harm it if I used some?

Yeast nutrient isn't a substitute for making a starter. Beer wort has plenty of nutrients in it already, so I doubt adding more does much, if anything at all. Yeast nutrients are crucial for low-nutrients fruit musts and meads.

So it won't hurt anything to add it, but I doubt it'll help either.

Yeast nutrient is like vitamin supplements. You can live without them but they do help you stay healthy. By the same token, a yeast starter is like food. If you only get a little, you won't grow healthy.
