Are there any good home substitutes for Yeast Nutrient?
I am making Mead today, already smacked my yeast pack. I unfortunately noticed that I have less Yeast Nutrient then I originally thought. The LHBS is a good distance away and out of the question. I was wondering if I may have something at home that is a yeast nutrient to boost my limited store bought nutrient. Any suggestions?

most plant fertilizers are high in nitrogen. I KID, I KID!!!!

Pitch the yeast today, get to your LHBS tomorrow and add the nutrient then.

Um, more yeast? Seriously, you could boil some yeast for a few minutes in a few ounces of H20 (to break down cell walls/structure) ...cool then add to primary. I've used this a few times in a pinch. Probably a better idea to follow the previous posters advice and add the nutrient later though.
