A few weeks ago, I brewed a Dunkel using a couple of packs of SafLager S‑189. My plan is to pitch a Maibock on top of this yeast, and when that is done pitch a Samiclaus clone on top.

The Dunkel is done, and I want to keg it for lagering. I don't have time to brew the Maibock today. Would it be better to leave the Dunkel on the yeast cake another week or two (I have it in a 6-gallon keg in a mini fridge at 40F) until I can brew the Maibock, or transfer the Dunkel off and leave the yeast cake in the fermentation keg? Is there a third option?

Thanks!

I would base the decision on whether or not the Dunkel is ready to keg. At this point, and in IMO, the yeast cake won't care (at least not much) whether it's sitting under a full batch of beer, or a tiny amout of beer, or no beer.
