Hey people,

I am going to keg my next batch of beer and want to try my first partial mash. Since i have only done extract brews, I was wondering what would be a good first 5 gallon partial mash recipe.

I was thinking an Ale of some sort, or something simple. I am also trying out my new 30qt turkey fryer for this brew.

Also, what steps should be taken to control fermentation temps, conditioning etc. I have a keggerator and a chest freezer.

Thanks! :mug:

The simplest thing might be to take an extract plus specialty grains recipe you've done before and convert it. Just add up all of specialty grains and add an equal amount of 2-row. Reduce the extract by the same amount if LME, or about 0.8 lbs of DME per lb of 2-row.

Fermentation and conditioning are much the same for kegs as bottles.
