Brewed an NB deadringer IPA today and it looks like a reverse black and tan...I pitched the yeast starter and checked back a couple hours later and it was looking light on the top and darker on the bottom. The airlock is bubbling away...

+1 Totally normal. I find especially so with lots of hop material.

Bries caramel malt 1lb, 9.15lbs gold malt syrup, and 4 oz's centennial hops.

Look like the pitched yeast falling through the wort. Did you just pour in your starter prior to this pic? How old is this batch?

Just took the pic now...pitched at 4pm eastern...and its 10:46

Very good...I got it covered...I've only made dark beers thus far and it weirded me out a little. I don't have the tubing for it  I can get some tomorrow after work at the earliest.

I may just do that. I have never seen fermentation happen that quickly. Its only my 4th batch so thats not saying much, and I've never used a starter before.

Sorry, thought removed the other one. Thanks for the heads up though.
