Last year I made a pumpkin ale and ran out of bottles so I put some in a growler. I finished my growler around august 20th and put the trub back in the fridge thinking I can reuse it for my pumpkin ale again this year. Any ideas or should I just use new yeast?

You could try to set it up as a starter and see if you get much activity out of it. It only would cost you a little malt and some cleaner right?

I'm not sure how old is too old to try. Interesting question.

+1 on a starter, it should be fine if it was stored correctly, yeast are my most resilient buddies..
