Hi everyone, Chicagoland brewer here. I'm on my 4th batch. Batch 3 was ruined by bacteria, so I decided to go to the local supply store and pick up a kit instead of re-ordering from Mr. Beer (and is also my first grain boil). I'm sure batch 4 will go bad too, since someone (not me) decided to wash out a jar of mayo next to the open brew kettle and got a couple drops in there during chilling. Ah well.

Starting to think I'll have to bite the bullet and get a primary fermenter that can handle 5 gallons. So, looking forward to wading through the tons of information here!
